Question by Mc K: A Lamination Question!!?
I laminated a classroom book about a week ago. I think the lamination machine wasn’t hot enough because in some places it didn’t stick and adhere at all.
Can I place it on place the book on an ironing board, cover it with a towel and iron it together? Does lamination film work AFTER THE FACT? or is it…sort-of ruined?

you can relaminate it
I’ve never tried ironing it.

Question by mayannaise: Question about lamination…?
I laminated something and it got bent, so where it bent the laminations is…. unlaminating [?]. Would sticking it through the machine again fix it or ruin it?
Best answer:
Answer by Precious Gem
Fix it. I laminate as part of my job at a school.
Slow down the speed of the laminating machine and press
the material as flat as you can when sending it through. Try sending it through in a different direction than the first time if possible.

Question by wannasnooze: Do the small heat laminators work as well as paying to have lamination done for me?

Yes, they just work just as well.
I have paid up to each for an A3 to get laminated. I use a small laminator at home and at work and am very happy with the result, plus with more money in my pocket.

Question by CourtneyMT: Will lamination ruin an official seal?
I have a few papers I need to laminate. I have a hot lamination machine. I’m just wondering if the one paper which has an official embossed seal will be ok going through the laminator or if the raised parts will be flattened. Has anyone ever tried this before?

Sorry, but you really should never laminate official documents. The embossed seal is there to verify it’s authenticity, and laminating, though you will still see the outline, will smooth it out. I made the mistake of laminating my birth certificate, and I have already had difficulty with the authorities more than once when I needed to provide it. The same goes for Social Security card, marriage certificate, etc. If you prefer to keep your official documents safe, try a plastic sheet protector instead. See link.

You should be able to buy the laminating supplies from any office supply store. For example, I know that they are sold at Staples. Click on this link:
http://www.staples.com/office/supplies/StaplesSearch?searchkey=pouches+laminating&storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&fromUrl=home
If there is no Staples convenient to you, try Office Depot, Office Max, or really any other office supply store.
Good luck!!
