Question by MooCowMan: Do cheap desktop cold laminators from ebay do a decent job on banners?
I use a 24″ pigment inkjet printer for printing banners for my own auto repair shops. I usually print on matte polypropylene. We have several banners 24″ x 60″ that are alternated daily. They get stained from being handled by greasy hands. I’ve been considering a cheap desktop cold laminator from eBay for about 0 shipped. Does anyone have any experience with how well these work?

I am a teacher and one thing I do with excess plastic is save it and cut it into squares, 8×11 if you can……Anyways, it makes a great overhead projector sheet if you use those. Otherwise cut it into squares and donate it to schools. Dry erase markers work on it too. If the pieces are big enough a school could use them with these markers for all sorts of activities, tracing letters, practice writing, drawing or doodling or even the traditional overhead projectors which in this economy I guarantee local schools and libraries are still using even if local buisnesses have better technology. Not sure what type of plastic it is though.

Yes- most require the paper pouch… read the instructions that came with the laminator. It will tell you if you need one for sure or not. If it says to use one then you should- otherwise you could ruin everything.
