Q&A: Help! I need your opinions!?
Question by Missy M: Help! I need your opinions!?
Okay so I know that this isn’t prego related, but I tend to be in this section a lot and figured I’d post it here and get your opinons though I’m pretty sure what I should do… So today at work I’m using the laminator and I had to grab some sheets from the opposite side of the table that is pushed against the wall. I see when I go to take some that they are still in the wrapper and figure instead of pulling just what i need out I’ll take the wrapper off. So as I’m doing this I feel something hit my butt… okay what the heck, well it’s this 60 y/o maintance man here and he was carrying a box. Okay maybe he accidently did this? then he says “I couldn’t help but notice you were bent over a bit and had to” Umm WTF??? So I barely can even comprehend what just happened, and he turns around and walks back to where I was and says “you’re probablly too old for spankings right?” confused me “Yea….” then he say “oh I thought girls were never too old for spankings” what would you do?

I would tell my boss.
Turn his butt in!
Talk to your boss and file a Sexual Harassment complaint against the guy. That is really creepy!!!
Wow…I would be in HR right now! That is SO not appropriate in the work place. Go talk to your boss and let then know you want to complain.
What a jerk !!! I would tell him he was totally out of line and you didn’t appreciate his behavior!!! Next time he might find himself with a black eye!!!
report him hostile work environment.
yeah, it is creepy. I would recommend AGAINST speaking to your boss…I would copy what you just wrote here, (starting with, “Today at work…”and put the following statement in a brief note.
(Boss)
Something happened the other day that kind of creeped me out. I don’t want to make a big deal out of it, I do not feel that I have been harmed, but this stuff should not be happening in the workplace and I hope that, now that you are aware of it, it will not happen again.
In today’s lawsuit-happy environment, your honest desire to be apart from perverts (or, just a guy who was being inapppropriate) could be seen as you trying to set up a lawsuit against your employer. If you wish for this situation to be peacefuly and quietly resolved, do not use any inflammatory language, do not portray yourself as a victim of an assault, and, just, give the boss the info, in writing, and let it go. I can just about guarantee that it won’t happpen again, and your employer will appreciate the tactful way that you handled the situation.
Yes, you need to file a complaint, but do it in writing listing the specific time, date, and location of where it occurred. You need to do this because many times if you give a verbal complaint, it cannot be documented. You need a paper trail; that way, when Creepy Maintenance Man does this again, there will be something in writing to nail his @ss.
i would report him to the boss and file a complaint and tell that guy that it was wrong and stupid of him to do that to you
Well Missy… I would have shoved that box up his @*#! And then I would have went and told my boss
Seriously… report him. What happens the next time around?
