Roll laminator vs Pouch Laminator?
Hi all,
We currently use a pouch laminator to laminate customers wine lists that we print in the office, but are thinking of upgrading to a faster roll laminator. Firstly, does a roll laminator leave a border around the substrate like a pouch laminator does? Also, do you have to cut the film after each substrate goes through? Will the results look more professional and be more ‘rigid’, kind of like a book cover? (obviously depending on the thickness of the rolls)
Looking at the GBC ULTIMA35 laminator, which says it has a ‘manual film cutter’, so just wondered what thats used for!
Also, anything else I need to know?
Thanks
Mark

A roll laminator beats a pouch laminator any day! It is not only faster, but a whole lot more versatile. Also gives better results on shiny material like photo’s. How much border you have depends on how you position the item that gets laminated.
You will also need to get a rotary cutter to cut off any excess lamination around the object you laminate – remember that the lamination rolls of a roll, and that the manual film cutter only cuts off the roll from where it comes out of the laminator.
